September 19 - Hunting with a GPS. This seminar will show the value of taking a GPS hunting and will cover altitude, topography, barometer, enhanced mapping, electronic compass, tracking and more. This free event will be held at Gander Mountain in St. Cloud at 6:30 p.m.
September 23 - Canine Carnival. Bring your dog and the rest of the family to the festivities. Come and celebrate dogs from noon-3 p.m. at Carver Park Reserve Dog Off-Leash Area in Victoria. A “Canine Carnival” is the least we can do for our best friends! Come to the Carver Park Reserve Dog Off-Leash Area and see demonstrations by police K-9 and service dogs. Enter your dog in a beautiful dog pageant and do dog-related crafts. Learn all about dogs in Minnesota and explore the wonderful new off-leash facility at Carver Park Reserve. Reservations are required. $5 per person (dogs are free). Groups of four or more receive a 20 percent discount on admission. Call 763-559-6700 for reservations.

September 25 - Twins Shoot For Courage Center. Held at the prestigious Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake and will feature a sporting clay competition as well as a European-driven shoot. Proceeds will benefit Courage Center’s Sports and Recreation programs, including support of the Rolling Twins wheelchair softball teams. Members of the Minnesota Twins family including Ron Gardenhire, Rick Anderson, Tim Laudner and Terry Steinbach are expected to participate. U.S. Paralympic shoot team member, NRA gold medalist and Courage Center client, Doug Bermel will also be featured. September 29 - Extreme Boat Makeover Application Deadline. National Marine Manufacturers Association's newest promotion for the 35th Annual Minneapolis Boat Show held at the Minneapolis Convention Center January 17-21, 2007. Local repair shops involved with the Minneapolis Boat Show will remodel one lucky Minnesotan’s boat and many manufacturers and local dealers have already contributed new 2007 accessories to the project. The boat will be unveiled the opening day of the Minneapolis Boat Show. Minnesotans who think they deserve an Extreme Boat Makeover can submit their stories online at the Minneapolis Boat Show’s website. Entries must be received by September 29, 2006. October 7 - Women in the Outdoors-Dkt Sttrs. River Valley Ranch, Carver from 9:00a.m - 4:00 p.m. This event will offer horseback riding, introductory GPS class, outdoor yoga, outdoor survival, outdoor scrapbooking, firearm safety and instruction. Contact Bev Riegel at 952-423-7451.

18th Annual Antique Gun Show. PRE-1940 Antique Arms Collector's Show. Presented by the Heritage Arms Society. Held at Eagan Civic Arena (St. Paul - Minneapolis south metro area). Set-up hours for exhibitors and members only on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. Show open to public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5. For more information contact Dick at 952-888-1079.
